Many prospective dog owners dream of owning a dog but with work and busy lives often don't have the time to commit to taking on an 8 week old puppy.
At Cleestangate Gundogs we have the experience, knowledge and passion to offer this bespoke service, tailored to our clients requirements.
Selected breeding lines is the first building block to ensure that the puppy has the pedigree and parental lineage to provide us with calm, willing to please dogs that work alongside their owners.
All of our Dogs are kennel Club registered, health tested, vet checked, micro chipped and fully vaccinated.
Our dogs are trained to relax on their beds. Knowing when its time to chill out is an important part of our training programme.
Being calm in the house is a must, manners at meal times, evenings by the fire and good behaviour when visitors arrive.
Socialisation is a huge part of what makes for a happy, relaxed dog.
Teaching our dogs patience is a core value. Every day tasks such as waiting for their food and not pushing through doorways becomes natural to your dog through consistent training.

Handover
An inclusive handover session will be carried out when you collect your dog. We will demonstrate what has been achieved and we can transfer our training tools to you to take forward.
We are always available for any help and advice and offer one to one follow up sessions if required. It is vital that you ensure you continue the learning with your dog when they arrive in their new home.

"We collected Belle in November 2022 from Cleestangate Gundogs. Naturally Belle seemed a little worried on the way home, but as soon as she arrived and met Blue, our yellow Labrador, she was absolutely fine. She settled in immediately and easily transitioned into our family home and routines. Belle loves her time outdoors. She loves exploring the woods and countryside near our home. She walks beautifully to heel both on and off the lead. She is well socialised with people and other dogs. In between her time outdoors she settles well and in the evening, will take herself off to bed when she is ready. Belle has been an absolute pleasure. When we decided we were getting a working cocker spaniel we did tireless research into the breed and due to our circumstances wanted a part trained puppy.
We came across Cleestangate gundogs through an advert of a part trained pup we liked the look of.
When we went to meet/collect Stan we were impressed with the facilities and happy that everything described in the advert was true, he had good, recall, sit/stay, toilet trained well socialised and good on the slip lead. This meant the transition into our home life was smooth and made the whole experience easy, so much so that there was no question of using Cleestangate for our second pup Guss.
Throughout on both occasions communication has been fantastic with regular updates/videos and any questions have always been answered promptly. The integrity and honesty from both Matt and Kate is priceless.

"We had Finn at the age of 10 months from Cleestangate Gundogs.
He was partly trained which was a great advantage for sure.
Kate delivered him to our house and settled him in giving advice and
telling us about his training and character.
Finn was a little nervous at first but it didn’t take long for him to make
himself at home. He had been crate trained so we continued to use
this for a few months but soon it became clear we could trust him so we
put the crate away. He quickly settled into his routine and in the
evening he brings his toy to say goodnight and toddles off to bed.
We are lucky to have 3 acres of land so Finn just loves his time outdoors
and exploring the Wyre Forest where we live. He is such a friendly
polite dog and walks beautifully both on and off the lead.
He is quick to learn, loves to play catch and hide and seek and is going
to love travelling in our new motorhome."
